PSLE results week: the one-page checklist for the seven days after the results

Nothing to buy. Print it, or keep it on your phone, and tick the boxes as the week goes.

Written 31 October 2026 · every date below is SEAB’s or MOE’s own, with the day we read it

Short answer: the 2026 results are due in a tentative window of Tuesday 24 – Wednesday 25 November 2026, released at 11am — and you then have seven calendar days to submit up to six secondary-school choices, in order of preference, in the S1 Portal, until 4.30pm on the last day. This page is that week, in order, as a checklist.

The checklist

WhenWhat to do
Results day
11am
Collect the two papers that come with the results: the S1 Option Form and the Eligibility Letter. Write down your child’s PSLE score, because that is the number the posting uses. Decide nothing on the first afternoon — the seven days start today, and one of them is for being calm.
Days 1–2 Make the long list, ten to fifteen names. For each one, ask the school for its PSLE score range from last year’s posting (MOE publishes these; take the school’s own page or MOE’s SchoolFinder as the source, never a forum post). Cross out any school you would not actually send your child to for the next four to six years.
Days 3–4 Cut to six, in the order you would truly accept them. The order matters more than the list: MOE places the child in the highest-ranked school on your list that has a place, so a school you would refuse belongs nowhere on it. Visit one or two in person if you can, and ask three things: who the Sec 1 form teacher is, how the school handles a child who is strong in one subject and shaky in another, and what the first term’s maths looks like.
Days 5–6 Get the paperwork right before you touch the portal: the Option Form filled in the same order as your list, the Eligibility Letter to hand, and any additional form the school asks for (an affiliated school, a Special Assistance Plan school). One missing page on the last afternoon is a week lost.
Day 7
before 4.30pm
Submit in the S1 Portal with Singpass. The portal runs 24 hours a day, so submit on day six or the morning of day seven — the last afternoon is when everyone else is on it.

What happens if the week gets away from you

If no choices are submitted inside the seven days, MOE posts the child to a secondary school with remaining vacancies near the registered address. Not a punishment, just the default — and the one outcome you can avoid by setting a phone reminder for day five.

The honest limit on this page. The 24–25 November window and the 18 December posting date are tentative, and they stay tentative until SEAB confirms them; your child’s school tells pupils the confirmed day at least a week before. We print the window SEAB publishes and we do not invent a day inside it. If SEAB or MOE moves a date, this page is corrected the same day. Sources: SEAB Important Dates page, read 13 October 2026; MOE S1 Posting page (last updated 1 October 2026), read 15 October 2026; SEAB 2026 PSLE Rules and Regulations, read 23 September 2026.

The one thing worth doing after the checklist

The posting decides the school. It does not decide how ready your child is for the work in January, and Sec 1 maths builds straight on the topics the year left shaky — ratio, fractions, speed, the word problems that need two steps. The free three-minute check shows which of those are actually weak, topic by topic, before the new term buries it. No card, no sign-up, and it stays free.

Questions parents ask in this exact week

When exactly are the PSLE 2026 results released?

SEAB prints a tentative window of Tuesday 24 – Wednesday 25 November 2026, at 11am. The confirmed day comes from the school at least a week before. Read on SEAB’s Important Dates page, 13 October 2026.

How long do we have to choose a school?

Seven calendar days: from 11.30am on results day until 4.30pm on the last day of the window. The S1 Portal is open 24 hours a day throughout.

Six choices, or fewer?

Up to six. Use all six if you can honestly accept all six — a shorter list is better than a list padded with schools you would refuse.

Can we still change our minds after submitting?

Submit once, correctly, in the order you mean. Do not use the portal as a scratchpad on the last afternoon.
